The meeting was held on April 25 at FNU. Academician Fu Bojie, director of the Academic Committee of the State Key Laboratory of Humid Subtropical Ecol-Geographical Processes of the Ministry of Education, other members of the committee, including Academician Chen Jingming, Prof. Tang Guo’an, Prof. Li Fangbai, Prof. Sun Fubao, Prof. Zhou Shungui, Prof. Liang Eryuan, Prof. Fu Yongshuo, Prof. Liu Jianbao, and Prof. Wei Xiaorong, FNU President Prof. Wang Changping, head of the Science and Technology Department, the party and government leadership members of the School of Geographical Sciences and the School of Carbon Neutrality Future Technology, and the academic backbones of the laboratory, attended the meeting, chaired by Academician Fu Bojie.
In his speech on behalf of FNU Wang Changping expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Academic Committee members for their long-term care and support for the cause of FNU and the development of the laboratory, and briefly reviewed the new progress made by the lab in the past year in scientific research, platform construction, serving the local community and so on. He pointed out that the key laboratories of universities, as an important part of the scientific and technological innovation system, are the huge energy bodies for forming new quality productive forces, which should be established, be used well and should effectively serve as a booster of implementing in depth the innovation-driven development strategy and accelerating the construction of a strong country in science and technology. He hoped that the laboratory will carefully review and fully digest the insights of the participating experts, further refine its research direction, strengthen its unique advantages and strive to promote its development to a new level and achieve new results. The person in charge of the laboratory reported to the Academic Committee on the work and plans of the key laboratory in terms of the laboratory overview, hardware enhancement, talent team, open operation and management, progress in scientific research, and research planning and envisioning.
The participating members of the committee had an in-depth discussion on the construction and development of the laboratory in the next phase, and put forward specific opinions on the research direction, the construction of human resources, international exchanges and cooperation, social services, as well as the declaration of achievements and awards of the laboratory.
